The Beelight is representative of honeycomb structures designed by bees. The Beelight is powered by an LED light bulb, making it energy efficient while limiting the amount of heat. The LED bulb comes with a variety of colors and is controlled by a remote. The light is twenty inches in length and comes in five pieces, therefore it can be assembles in just a few minutes with the materials provided. The material which makes up the Beelight is built out of Medium Dense Fiberboard (MDF). MDF is biodegradable and is difficult to ignite, therefore it works very well with the LED light bulb and has sustainable properties. The process of the MDF is fabricated with a laser machine which gives the Beelight an organic, burnt, natural look to complement the visual aspects of the Beelight.
